What is Colon Irrigation?

A colon irrigation using the Wood Gravitational Method is an internal bath that helps cleanse the colon of poisons, gas, and accumulated fecal matter.  Unlike an enema, water is not retained, but constantly flows in and out of the colon.

Why are Colonics Important?

When we are not eliminating properly, waste may not be expelled for days, weeks, months, or even years.  When we don’t eliminate our waste, toxins back up in the colon, which can cause auto-intoxication, or self-poisoning.  This occurs when the bowel walls become encrusted with the uneliminated fecal matter, hampering the absorption of vital nutrients and providing a breeding ground for unhealthy bacteria.  Blood capillaries lining the bowel will begin to absorb these toxins into the bloodstream, consequently polluting all of the organs and cells – thus setting the stage for “dis-ease.”  This auto-intoxication lowers our overall feeling of health and vitality.

How Many Colonics are Needed?

The number of treatments will always vary with the individual and his/her condition.  Many factors are involved, including the anatomical shape of the colon, current and past eating habits, overall health of the body, and even patterns of emotional holding.

The best approach seems to be to keep these factors in mind and monitor the progress from colonic to colonic.  Generally, one colonic is not enough to reverse decades of poor eating habits.

Are There Any Side Effects to Colonics?

It is not uncommon for some people to start to feel as if they have a cold or headache after a colonic.  Toxins that have been lying dormant in the colon are now being flushed out and a small amount may be reabsorbed into the body’s system.  This healing crisis passes quickly and the person will realize a feeling of well being with further treatments.

  1. Cleanse the Colon: Once impacted material is removed, your colon can begin to function as it was meant to function.  In this very real sense, a colonic is a rejuvenation treatment.
  2. Exercise the Colon Muscles: Toxic build-up weakens the colon.  This gentle filling and emptying of the colon improves muscular contractions within the colon, which is vital to move waste material through the colon.
  3. Reshape the Colon: The gentle action of the water, coupled with the massage techniques used by the colon therapist, helps to eliminate bulging pockets of waste and narrowed, spastic constrictions, finally enabling the colon to resume its natural state.
